MANILA - The Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) has extended the Bring Home a Friend (BHAF) campaign until October 31, 2018 to allow more people to join.
DOT Secretary Wanda Tulfo-Teo recently made the announcement at a press conference, saying overwhelming public response to the BHAF program prompted the DOT and its partners to extend it for another six months.
Teo also disclosed that the campaign has tremendously helped boost tourist arrivals since its launch in October last year in the United States, Europe, Middle East and Southeast Asia.
"In February 2018 alone, the industry posted 673, 831 visitor arrivals - a 21.6 percent increase compared to last year’s figures,"Teo said.
The BHAF is a rewards program which seeks to promote travel to the Philippines by encouraging Filipinos and expatriates residing in the Philippines (referred to as "sponsor") to invite friends from abroad (tagged as “inviteeâ€) to visit the country, and wherein both sponsors and invitees have the chance to win prizes.
